After having spent three months here, I’m very happy about the decision I made. The first idea that springs to mind is the chance to meet people from around the world. You have the opportunity to learn about other cultures from people different to you and practice English at the same time! It’s really constructive.
About my school, the best thing is the staff, they always have a smile for you, and everything is easier with them. They are always available if you need something. During my stay, I’ve been in class with several teachers. We do a lot of things at class, grammar, vocabulary, and writing. And I think the most important thing is that they are always looking for feedback from the students. This is a good way to improve; the students can suggest activities to do. But what I like most is that the classes are really funny. As I said before, all the staff of the school are kind and friendly. The school is not only able to do classes in a great way; they also offer a lot of activities: conversation club, excursions… The conversation club is a great idea to meet new people in an informal atmosphere and improving your English too. During my time here, I did an excursion, I went to Oxford. It was great because the price included a tour guide.
In addition I’ve made a lot of friends, in fact when I leave Manchester, I’m going to travel in order to visit some friends: I’ll go to Switzerland, Italy..
About the city, I have fallen in love with Manchester. To be honest, I was a little bit afraid before come but now I am convinced I made the right decision. I’ve attended a large number of football games and they were awesome! Also the school gives you facilities to get the tickets. Manchester is small but you can find whatever you want: you can enjoy going shopping in Trafford Centre, Arndale; you can attend a match in the Etihad Stadium or Old Trafford, appreciate the views from the Hilton Hotel from the top of its building, and at Christmas the decoration is wonderful! The entire city is full of color. For me one of the best areas of Manchester is Castlefield, I highly recommend walking around its canals and iron bridges. If you have the opportunity to go on a sunny day, it would be awesome to eat something in one of its terraces. Also Spinningfields is a lovely part of the city. You can find a lot of restaurants offering delicious cuisine. There is also a great outdoor seating area, perfect to spend an evening talking with friends.
If I have to choose a special moment while I’ve lived here, I would say it was my day in Blackpool. It is definitely worth a visit. The city is famous for its illumination, at night it is so nice. But there is a theme park with a lot of rides and numerous choices of thrills, where you are going to have great fun. During my visit the park wasn’t very busy and we didn’t have to wait long in queues only for the Big One, but the wait was worth it!

So I want to encourage you, do not hesitate!! Come to Manchester, come to Manchester Academy of English, I assure you: you will not regret it. A new city, new friends and a place to improve your English…it is just perfect!!
