Engineering Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Materials) @ ANU

reviewed on May 8, 2014

The quality of teaching is terrible, the lecturers here are selfish. They focus on their own research and have no passion in teaching. For example, the lecturer does not have strength in speaking, as in retired mood for some. Campus facilities sucks for engineering too, not enough equipments and small theatre room. We have to share lecture theatre with others faculties. And most ridiculously, do you know Mechanical major engineering student from ANU fail to get Mechanical engineer skill recognition by Engineers Australia?

Bachelor of Science @ ANU

A garden like campus set in the backdrop of a quiet administrative city are part of the experience of studying at the ANU. As the premier (and only) federally established university in Australia, responsible for turning out the majority of Australian Nobel prize winners (among other prestigious academic achievements), there is a strong academic focus at this university, even though at an undergraduate level. The lecturers are very well rehearsed with the course materials that they teach, the campus is very well equipped and the content delivery systems are as modern as they are required to be. For the courses i have taken, there is nothing much that needs any improvement. Course requirements are very clear, lectures are recorded, tutorials well organised, academic support is very easy to reach. What is lacking is the half hearted attempts at university social events, and inadequate funding of clubs and societies that are the hallmark of some other universities. The residential halls and colleges are also not as integrated as they should be socially. The Union Court is mostly empty, and the student lounge, despite its lures of free breakfast fails, for some reason, to attract more students to the student unions. There are not nearly enough places to buy food so chances are you'll have to bring your own lunch or prepare for long queues.

Master of International Affairs @ ANU

ANU offers great teaching and learning environment. I had both enriching and enjoyable time throughout my studies there. I not only learn from the classes but also from classmates of diverse backgrounds and interesting experiences. The lectures, seminar, special academic events and opinion sharing sessions are there to enrich your experiences.

The tutoring and learning assistance is very well-equipped with high calibre personnel and facility.

Overall, for learning experience, it really is awesome!

Cultural events are those I always enjoyed after the class. Besides, most of the event, be it exhibition, music, arts, food, are free admission.

For my life is Canberra, what I enjoy the most during my two-year studies are the combination of scenic view of Canberra, quiet atmosphere, food of your choices and friends who join together for a drink at University bar or elsewhere in the Civic where I could find anything I need within 10-minute walking distance from the campus.
