Great school, atmosphere encourages you to be daring in your practice. Faculties are there to support you and sometimes challenge you to push your limit.

BSc (Hons) Creative Computing @ Goldsmiths

reviewed on April 7, 2014

Before I was enrolled into Goldsmiths, I visited the campus a lot since I had a friend who already attended the university and we'd play basketball. I already saw that the university was very open to all kinds of people, race, age, gender etc. Which I found amazing.

My time in Goldsmiths from when I started in 2013 has been a positive one. I've met amazing people, getting involved in societies as well as the university diplomatic side. It was amazing how involved you can easily become with the social side of the university as well as having a say in it's future plans.

The teaching in Goldsmiths I'd say is not bad but not amazing either. I'm learning, but I feel like the lecturers could be a little better. However that's speaking for my course in the Computing Department, I have no idea how other departments/courses are.

The campus also has a great amount of bars/pubs. Goldsmiths SU even put up club night every thursday called "Club Sandwich" which is not bad, but pretty fun once you find your type of group. I kinda hoped that there were more Goldsmiths oriented clubs.

I really love the gym (Club Pulse) at goldsmiths. It's like a family community and everyone who goes are very helpful. At first I was intimidated as it was a new gym, but no one really shows off and everyone keeps to their own routines, but aren't selfish enough to not help.

Overall, I think Goldsmiths is very welcoming & interesting University. It has some things it could work on, but they are doing exactly that, they are working on it and making progress in doing something about it.

Hope this has been a useful review.

MA Promotional Media @ Goldsmiths

Goldsmiths as a whole is a very well-known and highly reputable institution in the UK, and many of the teachers and professors have written and published the literature that is used for teaching the course. Students are highly encouraged to think critically, more so than in many other universities (my personal opinion, but shared by others). There are a lot of interesting lectures and workshops being held outside of the normal course modules as well, which broadens the learning experience and gives us a chance to really take advantage of this year to its full extent. The only downside is the area, as I do not find New Cross to be a particularly nice area (especially late evenings...).
