The University of Western Australia (UWA) was founded in 1911 and is the oldest university in the state of Western Australia. A member of the Group of Eight and foundation member of the Matariki Network of Universities (MNU) UWA has a strong commitment to research based teaching with particular focus on student experience. UWA is ranked 84th in the 2013 QS rankings and has produced close to 100 Rhodes Scholars and a Nobel Prize winner.
Located on the Swan River in central Perth, UWA has nine faculties across two city community campuses with shops, markets and galleries, and has a regional campus in Albany on the coast.
